Downtempo is laid-back, mellow, slow-tempo electronic music that is sometimes called 'chillout' to encompass a wider variety of styles. Downtempo draws heavily on electronica, dub, hip hop, jazz, ambient, and is often fused with genres like lounge, trip hop, and folktronica.
