Idyllic Music

Idyllic Music Podcast

Trip Hop - Electronica - Downtempo

Episode 140

Welcome to the Idyllic Music Podcast featuring the melodic and rhythmic, the charmingly simple and deceptively complex.

Idyllic Music can be Trip Hop or Ambient, Jazz, Dub or Downtempo. In short, headphone electronica. Music as cool as a gentle summer stream.

This week, we'll look at the increasingly antiquated idea of old world versus new world especially in music and art. Cultures measured by millennia rather than centuries are borrowing and incorporating sounds and instruments in ways that unthinkable in the past

We'll begin in the quintessentially new world city of Miami with one of our favorite new beatists. Chris Martin's mix of pastoral hip-hop, soulful samples and glitch mark this bridge between the new and old. Here is 'Love Takes Time'
